Their mouths contain two ridges similar in shape to human teeth, with three larger sharp points-two on the top and one on the bottom-that resemble a squid's beak. An Inkling's eyes are are surrounded by a black 'eye mask', and they have pointed ears that are homologous to a squid's fins. The outer layer changes to match an Inkling's ink color, and usually features a spotted gradient to a secondary color at the ends of their longest tentacles. These tentacles are colored on the outside, and white on the inside. Instead of hair, an Inkling has tentacle appendages that cover their head. The humanoid form is similar to that of a young child, but with notable differences. By at least the age of 14, Inklings gain complete control over both these forms and can change between humanoid and squid at will. The original Turf Wars were overseen by Judd, a cat that was cryogenically frozen by his human owner before the Earth was flooded. Dalyn writes handsome heroes who are brave, wounded, and ready for change and intelligent, capable women with beauty and character. Dalyn lives here in the Valley but you might not know her -yet- from her romances, but from her devotional instead, Rooted and Blooming. I am going to start with a name that is probably familiar to a lot of our readers, Dalyn Weller. My list of authors (though obviously not all can attend this month) has about 30 names so far. The ones attending are but a fraction of all the talent around here. This event has been going on for 4 years now and I confess when I started I had no idea the PNW had so many amazing romance writers. From Christian and close door/clean romances, to suspense, contemporary, paranormal, and the more “spicy” titles. There will be a little bit of everything and a book for just about anyone. This week’s review is a little highlight of what each author has to offer. Three of them are from right here in the Valley. Inklings will have at least 16 PNW authors outside its doors signing books this Saturday for Bookstore Romance Day.
